1 Cor.15:20-21 |
This feast is always
celebrated on Sunday (18th
of Nisan), the day after Sabbath following the Passover It is the start of the Barley harvest when the
first fruits of the harvest were waved before the LORD. This was for Israel when
they entered Canaan for they could not celebrate it in the wilderness.
- Christ was raised at sundown on the Feast of Firstfruits.
(The third day of Unleavened Bread, three days in the tomb).
- This pictures the resurrection of Christ (1 Cor.15:20-21"the firstfruits").
- The entire "resurrection harvest" belongs to God.
- Since we belong (being purchased) to God, we should wholly
offer ourselves to Him.
The
common greeting at this time is "He is Risen!" The response should
be "He is Risen indeed!..
